In Basel, Switzerland the Ancient Mariners and the Swiss Mariners gathered at the Baggenstos for some tunes, a few ales and a boatload of fun. These brother organizations have found themselves together in pubs, like the Baggenstos, all around the world since the seventies. It wasn’t until their recent trip to Switzerland, however, that the following notion took hold; We are not only Swiss Mariners or Ancient Mariners but we are, simply, Mariners. With that realization it occurred to us that we need a new place to share our stories, both for you and us. A place that does not segment us but, instead, binds us together. A place for The Mariners.
