*What is RSS?
RSS is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated digital content, such as blogs, news feeds or podcasts.

How does it work?
The user ’subscribes’ to a feed by supplying a link to the feed to their feed reader. The feed reader can then check the user’s subscribed feeds to see if any of those feeds have new content since the last time it checked. If so, that new content is presented to the user in their feed reader.

Where do I get a feed reader?
Users of RSS content use programs called ‘feed readers‘ or ‘aggregators’ such as Google’s Newsreader. Another well known feed reader is bloglines.
